There are a number of methods you can use to find your item on Loot in The Loft.
The best way to find your specific item is to search for it. Searching is the faster method of finding things as you can narrow your criteria in a variety of ways.
All items advertised on Loot in The Loft must be placed within the category most relevant to it.
i.e. A Guitar must be placed within Musical Instruments and NOT Music, etc
The reason we have this policy is to give all our members a fair chance to sell their items and to prevent confusion and frustration for buyers as they try to find what they're looking for.
NOTE: If you continue to breach this policy after fair warnings, all of your current listings will be removed from sale and your account cancelled with no refund of listing fees given.
Loot in The Loft offers a number of methods to find the item yo are looking for.
You can search by Category, Keyword, Region or Seller.

4. Changing Your Email Address
You can change the personal details you entered when you first registered at any time by clicking the register link on any Loot in The Loft page
Type your UserID, password and new Email address into the relevant fields then press "Update". You will be asked to confirm the changes, so, if everything is OK, press "OK" otherwise press "Cancel" to go back and correct the error.
If you intend to sell any of your items on Loot in The Loft it pays to carefully study other sales prior to listing your own. Researching will give you some idea of the current market value of your item and the category other members have placed similar items into. The more accurate the category, the better chance of your item being seen and therefore the more chance of it selling.
Imagine you were the Buyer of your item - where would you look for it?
You can search for items in particular categories by clicking either the Home page or the Advanced Search page links.
On either page, select the category the want to search through from the "Category" drop down list or click on the category name, i.e. Computing
top6. Closing Your Loot in The Loft Account
If you feel you want to close your Loot in The Loft account you can do so by clicking the register link on any Loot in The Loft page
Type your UserID, password and contact details into the relevant fields then press "Close My Account". You will be asked to confirm the fact that you wish to close your account, so, if you're sure, press "OK" otherwise press "Cancel" to cancel the action.
If you do close your Loot in The Loft account, your details will be archived and removed from our 'current members' database after which you will no longer be able to Buy or Sell on Loot in The Loft. We archive your details so that we can prevent barred users from rejoining.
Unless we have closed your account due to policy breaches or rule breaking, you are welcome to rejoin us at any time.

7. Communicating With Your Trading Partner
Whether you're a Buyer or a Seller, communication with the other trading partner is essential for a trouble free transaction. In reality both parties joined the Loot in The Loft community for the same reason, the Buyer to find an item they were looking for at a fair price, and the Seller to raise money on long forgotten items.
A few things to keep in mind, as issues do arise from time to time.
8. Complaint About Incorrect Goods
If you wish to complain about the goods you viewed, please bear in mind a few points before you do so:-
NOTE TO SELLERS: If you consistently misdescribe your items, all of your current listings will be removed from sale and your account cancelled immediately with no refund of listing fees given.
To be an effective Seller, as in any market place, you must have a good rapport with your potential Buyers.
Once you receive an Email enquiry, whether it is a question about your item or requests for viewing details, always respond to it in a timely and courtious manner. Be prepared to 'Go that extra mile' - after all, it's you that's selling the item.
The final stages of the selling process are:
Please also remember to inform us if your item sells outside of Loot in The Loft, as we will need to remove it from the site, again to prevent you from receiving communications for an item that's sold.
To tell us about the sale, click on the Sell link and click the "My Item's Sold" button, then follow the simple instructions. That's it!!
10. Contact Information: How to Update

11. Contact Information: Overview
To enable you to use Loot in The Loft to its full extent, you need to provide us with some basic contact information. If the information you supply ever changes, please be sure that you click the register link and update your details as soon as possible otherwise potential buyers of your items won't be able to reach you - end result - possible sale lost.
In order for us protect the identity of all our members, contact information other than Email addresses can only ever be given by Sellers. We will NEVER supply contact details to anyone other than as per our Privacy Policy. If you receive an Email purporting to be from Loot in The Loft asking for personal or sensitive information such as contact details or passwords, IT IS NOT FROM US. Therefore, please refer to the Websites Impersonating Loot in The Loft section in Help W and follow the instructions to report it.
12. Contact Information: False or Missing (Policy)
As trading partners need to be able to communicate with each other, the provision of false/omission of contact information is not permitted when registering with Loot in The Loft.
Providing false information encourages criminal activity. Therefore, we would ask any member who believes another member to be in breach of this policy, to please report them to customerservices@lootintheloft.com including their UserID and any other supporting information.
NOTE: If you are found to have provided false information, all of your current listings will be removed from sale and your account cancelled immediately with no refund of listing fees given.
13. Contact Information: Proper Use
We do not allow the publication of any members' contact details on this site. This is to aid us in the protection of individual members privacy.
Therefore, we would ask if you are aware of any breach of this policy, please report it to customerservices@lootintheloft.com and include their UserID and any other supporting information if possible.

14. Contact Information: Publishing Contact Information (Policy)

Once you have found the item you were searching for, you may have some questions or require more information from the Seller.
This is easy to do with Loot in The Loft:- Just click on the item you are interested in and in the page that appears, click on the "Contact Seller" button. This will open your default Email program i.e. Microsoft Outlook, with the Seller's Email address already in the "To" field.
It's that easy!
Loot in The Loft DOES NOT use cookies in the operation of the service provided.
Cookies are small files (computer programs) placed onto your computers hard drive which can be used to collect any amount of information such as browsing habits and targeting of advertising amongst many others. They are sometimes exploited by computer hackers and/or criminals although most internet security software programs and browsers allow you to disable cookie acceptance as an automatic feature.
