We do not, under any circumstances, permit items that promotes any form of prize giving to be listed on Loot in The Loft. We have this policy as the running of such promotions is strictly regulated by law and may be illegal. Loot in The Loft want to ensure that both Buyers and Sellers using our services comply with their legal obligations.
NOTE: If you breach this policy, all of your current listings will be removed from sale and your account cancelled immediately with no refund of listing fees given.
To enable you to use Loot in The Loft to its full extent, you need to provide us with some basic contact information. Registration is easy and free!!
All users of Loot in The Loft must be 18 years of age or older. The reason we have this requirement is that individuals under the age of 18 are sometimes the target of criminal intent. Therefore, our services are not available to children. We ask that, if you are under 18 years of age, please do not register with us - we will happily welcome you into our membership when you are. You will still be able to use our services, but only under the supervision of a parent or guardian.
If the information you supply ever changes, please be sure that you click the register link and update your details as soon as possible otherwise potential buyers of your items won't be able to reach you - end result - possible sale lost.

Any member who believes another member to be under-age, please report them to underage@lootintheloft.com including their UserID and any other supporting information. Reporting them is for their own benefit as our policy is to protect minors from criminals.

3. Registration: Choosing Your User ID
All Loot in The Loft users need to register to be able to Buy or Sell items on the site. As a part of the registration process, you will create a unique UserID which is the name you will be known by in your listings.
You should choose a name you think represents you and that you will remember but please note this name should be of a format containing letters (a-z) and/or numbers (0-9) only. No other characters are permitted in your UserID and it should be a maximum of 10 letters/numbers.
Also, Email addresses and URL's are not allowed as a UserID and they cannot be the same as another members UserID.
4. Registration: Adding Registration Information
To enable you to use Loot in The Loft to its full extent, you need to provide us with some basic contact information.
To add your contact information, you will need to click on the register link on most Loot in The Loft pages.
Once you are taken to the registration pages you will need to choose your UserId and password. Enter them into the relevant fields, add your contact details, confirm you are at least 18 years of age and agree with our User Agreement and Privacy Policy then press the "Register" button.
Congratulations!! - you're now a Loot in The Loft member.
Your details will be saved on our database and you're free to Buy or Sell on Loot in The Loft.

5. Registration: Updating Registration Information
You can change the personal details you entered when you first registered at any time by clicking the register link on any Loot in The Loft page.
Type your UserID, password and new contact details into the relevant fields then press "Update Me". You will be asked to confirm the changes, so, if everything is OK, press "OK" otherwise press "Cancel" to go back and correct the error.
6. Requests for Sensitive Information
In order for us protect the identity of all our members, contact information other than Email addresses can only ever be given by Sellers. We will NEVER supply contact details to anyone other than as per our Privacy Policy. If you receive an Email purporting to be from Loot in The Loft asking for personal or sensitive information such as contact details or passwords, IT IS NOT FROM US. Therefore, please refer to the Websites Impersonating Loot in The Loft section in Help W and follow the instructions to report it.
Loot in The Loft offers the facility to include descriptive wording with your listing. Remember, this wording is the whole basis of your advertisment so be sure that you write good, explanatory titles and item descriptions as time spent at this stage will significatly improve the chances of your item being found by searches - and sold.
Buyers will be searching for words in your titles and descriptions, so try to avoid any words that won't be used in search fields. Think of what you would type if you were searching for your item.
If, for any reason you decide to change your titles or descriptions, just Sign In, click on the Sell link and you will be taken to the Sellers pages where you can click "Revise My Listing". Your listing will be shown, which you can then edit and upload - overwriting the previous wording.
NOTE: This facility is for editing current items ONLY. You must NOT use this facility to change your listing to an entirely different item. All edits are notified to Loot in The Loft and if we suspect that you are trying to circumvent listing fees for a new item, then ALL of your current items will be removed from sale and your account cancelled with no refund of listing fees given.
